Public and Leased Housing Services
The Lowell Housing Authority’s Division of Leased Housing and Admissions administers the Authority’s Federal Public Housing, Section 8 Leased Housing Program, as well as a number of other rental assistance programs. It subsidizes thousands of eligible families in privately owned apartments, providing an alternative to the Authority’s conventional public housing. Our staff consists of administrative aides, housing technicians, who provide support for our programs, support service access, and voucher portability. Portability
Portability is the act of moving a voucher from one housing jurisdiction to another (i.e. Moving a voucher from Lowell, MA to Dracut, MA). Voucher holders must have a Housing Choice Mobile Voucher to qualify. If you have questions regarding portability of vouchers to and from Lowell Housing Authority, please contact us:
