Recognition Bestowed Upon Philip L. Shea

Philip L. Shea, a former Chair of the Lowell Housing Authority (LHA), Lowell City Councilor, State Representative and State Senator was recently honored for his decades of dedicated service to the agency, the city of Lowell, and the state of Massachusetts. During a special meeting on June 12, 2024, Shea was presented with numerous citations and proclamations in recognition of his significant contributions.

Surrounded by colleagues, elected officials, and friends, Shea was presented with the following awards and honors.

  • Governor's Citation awarded by Governor Maura T. Healey, presented by Vice Chair and State Representative Rodney Elliott.
  • United States House of Representatives Citation of Special  Congressional Recognition awarded by U.S Congresswoman Lori Trahan, presented by Vice Chair and State Representative Rodney Elliott.
  • Massachusetts House of Representatives Citation awarded by Speaker of the House Ronald Mariano, presented by State Representative Vanna Howard.
  • City of Lowell in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Citation awarded by Mayor Daniel P. Rourke, presented by City Councilor Vesna Nuon.
  • State Senate Citation awarded by Senator Edward J. Kennedy, presented by Dominik Lay, District Constituent.
